Three ways to turn your life into a personal brand
People don’t follow ideas they follow the people behind those ideas.
No one cares about your business. Hard to swallow I know but it’s true.
The good news is.
They care about you.
No one gives two hoots about the thing you sell.
They care about you.
YOU, the person.

Do you need some examples to prove I’m not just talking out of turn?
Okay, here ya go.
- Elon Musk has 197.8 million followers on X and SpaceX has 35.6 million
- Tim Cook has 14.5 million followers on X and Apple has 9.7 million
- Kim Kardashian has 360 million followers on Instagram and Skims has 6.1 million
People prefer to follow people, not the brands.
To be honest, brands are boring for the most part.
It’s the uniqueness of people that makes us interested in the things brands sell or the services they offer.
This is why you should be turning your life into a personal brand.
Here are 3 common problems people usually have when starting to develop their personal brand.
1. Struggle to Identify Core Values and Passions
- Many people find it difficult to identify their core values and passions because they’re overwhelmed by outside influences or focused on what they think they should be doing rather than what truly drives them. This leads to a personal brand that feels disconnected or forced.
2. Unsure How to Craft and Share a Unique Story
- One of the biggest challenges is figuring out how to share your story in a way that adds value to others. People often hesitate because they feel their story isn’t “interesting enough” or worry about how to position their experiences in a professional context.
3. Inconsistent Content Creation and Engagement
- Many people struggle to stay consistent with content creation. Life gets busy, or they feel unsure about what to post, leading to sporadic engagement. This inconsistency makes it hard to build trust with an audience and hampers long-term growth.
Throughout the last few years of making content, I’ve struggled with all these problems.
I found myself just creating content in the moment and then posting. This meant I was usually never really happy with the results because I knew I could have done better.
It helps to have systems in place and a good understanding of your core values, unique story, and content pillars.
This ensures your authenticity and gives you a great starting place and reference.
Once I started to implement these 3 things my content game changed for the better.
1. Identify Your Core Values and Passions
- Why it matters: The foundation of a strong personal brand starts with clarity about what you truly care about. Your values and passions will guide the direction of your brand.
- Actionable Step: Take 15 minutes to write down three things you're most passionate about and three values you hold in both your personal and professional life. Use these as a filter for every decision you make regarding your brand. If it doesn’t align with those values, it doesn’t belong.
2. Craft and Share Your Unique Story
- Why it matters: Your story is your brand’s most valuable asset. Sharing your personal journey helps build deeper connections and allows people to relate to you on a human level.
- Actionable Step: Think about three pivotal moments in your life that shaped who you are today. Write a brief description of each and think about how they can be used to inspire or educate your audience. Share one of these moments on social media or in your next piece of content.
3. Create Consistent, Authentic Content
- Why it matters: Consistency is key to building trust with your audience, while authenticity ensures that trust is genuine. Show up regularly in ways that reflect who you are.
- Actionable Step: Pick two days this week to post on social media and commit to showing up authentically. Share behind-the-scenes moments, lessons learned, or a challenge you're currently facing. Remember, it’s about being real and relatable, not perfect.
I hope these tips help you on your way to building your personal brand and digital presence.
